About:
Addiction and Recovery Support Groups are an important resource that individuals can use to support recovery. SAMHSA has identified support groups as one of the Ten Fundamental Components of Recovery. Group therapy has been proven to help people maintain sobriety for the long-term. It's another tool to have in the process of recovery and experience of community.
Come as you are......
WHO?
Any client of the Waynik Group who is interested in sharing good and bad experiences and being part of a supportive and valued community in addiction recovery.
WHAT:
Under the guidance and leadership of our skilled and experienced clinician, Justin Barsanti, participants learn from the experiences of each other, share coping strategies and offer empathy and encouragement. Participants support other group members in recovery with a sense of belonging, collaborative problem solving and shared community.
WHY:
Addiction and Recovery Support Groups can extend the circle of support beyond family members and close friends therby reducing stress and anxiety. Support groups can make participants feel less isolated/alone and feel a part of a safe, relatable and supportive community.
